Artist's Statement about this work: I typically paint landscapes, but thought I would try a portrait. My model was actually one of my grown sons. I wanted to show some contrast, but minimize his clothing, with just enough to portray his stance.

Artist's Statement about this work: While experimenting with gouache, I decided to use squeegees to move, add, and remove paint as I do with oil paint. I liked the unusual result.

I use gesture and facial expression to evoke a thought or memory from the viewer that may bring to mind an experience they may have had at some point in their lives. Some may be serious, some humorous, and hopefully, interesting.

Artist's Statement about this work: This is a typical Hawaiian scene and my favorite kind of painting. I wanted to capture the joy I felt peering down this island street. I was imagining the treasures I'd find, the seafood to eat and the smell of the ocean that was hidden behind the trees. Such a fun day.

Artist's Statement about this work: This is a painting of the home of an amazing woman named June. This home is located in the heart of Midway and is kind of a town landmark, I think someone told me her husband built the home for her many years ago and after he passed, June lived alone in the house...working in the yard, planting a garden, serving the community in numerous ways, and playing bunco weekly, etc. Joan recently passed away at 97 and although I have painted this house several times, I feel like it won't be the same without June in it.
