When I painted this picture I wanted to capture the look in his eyes and the expression on his face. I imagine that I can understand how he is feeling. Emotion is one thing that unites us all, it is something we all experience. When you see the look on his face can you emphasize with him? Can you see his humanity even though you don't know him? This is what we need more of in this world, the ability to see each other as fellow humans with experiences and opinions that we may not understand but, with souls and emotions that we do.
